The first of our new events for 2026 is a Metric Marathon - 26km which, we believe is the only trail race at this distance in the area. A stepping stone from a half-marathon to a full marathon distance for those new to longer distance or as a fun training run for those of you more experienced on the trail. Starting and finishing in the centre of Hebden Bridge, with an uphill climb before a relatively flat run across the moor from Stoodley Pike out to the White House pub and back again, finishing back down that first climb. With a marked course, a tail runner, and a half way checkpoint this is a great route to take on a new challenge or to just have a good run out and cheer on your fellow runners as you cross paths on the return run.
Route
The route starts from the centre of Hebden Bridge
After a steep climb hits the trail, the route then flattens out and you travel along the moor past the iconic Stoodley Pike, across sandy, rocky trails and eventually hit stone slabs. After passing the reservoirs you will reach the end of the trail, and take a brief pit stop at the car park of the White House pub before returning back the way you came, the downhill will signal the end of your Metric Marathon, finishing back in the centre of Hebden Bridge.
Well marked course
This route will have flags to follow, so you can just relax and enjoy the stunning scenery.
Secure baggage store
Don’t worry about your belongings while you conqure the course, we have a secure baggage store where you can stow your belongings.
Hydration station
There will be marshalls out along the course and a water station at the turnaroud point, offering water and squash in order to keep you hydrated for the return journey.

Parking in town can be tricky on a weekend so we do recommend car share or public transport where possible, Hebden Bridge train station is a 10 minute walk from registration and the main bus stops in town are on New Road so you would only need to cross the main road. If you are planning to drive in there are car parks available in town but there is very limited free parking.
