Welcoming everyone to our 4th installment of the Calderdale Way Ultra taking you along the Calderdale Way trail following clear and visible trail markers. This 50 mile route explores the wonderful hills moors and valleys of Calderdale, encircling Halifax, Hebden Bridge, and Todmorden following old packhorse ways across open gritstone hillsides with sections of traditional stone causeway, passing through hillside villages and old mill towns on the banks of the River Calder.
You have the option to complete the full 50 miles, or enter our 30 mile event that will start you further along the Calderdale Way, still finishing with everyone else in Heptonstall.
50-mile Ultra
Starting and finishing in Heptonstall, you will be taking full advantage of all the Calderdale Way can offer you, making sure you miss no stone on this stunning circular route. Be supported by our lovely volunteers at 7 vegan-friendly aid stations spread across the course, who will be happy to help you with refueling, moral support, and plenty of smiles.
With a generous 17 hour cut-off, don't forget to take in all the wonderful sights as you run. There are two non-negotiable cut-offs however so make sure you get to Withens Clough (checkpoint 5) by 7pm, and Great Rock (checkpoint 7) by 11pm.
30-mile Ultra
Starting at Brookfoot Lock in Brighouse, you will start your journey on the Calderdale Way trail. Following the same route as the 50-mile Ultra, you will take advantage of 4 of the 7 vegan-friendly aid stations that are ahead of you. As long as you reach Todmorden Sports Centre (checkpoint 6) by 4:30pm, run your own race and enjoy the scenic woodlands and moorlands.
Mandatory kit must be carried at all times.
Registration
Heptonstall either Friday 24th evening 6-8pm or Saturday 25th morning 6-7am.
The 30-mile event has the option to register at Heptonstall & purchase a bus slot to the start, or register at the start line in Brighouse on Saturday 25th morning 8:15-8:45 am
